And then u put it in the microwave for 5 mins..
but i have no microwave..
will it work in the oven? and for how long?

I want to surprise my mom for her birthday by making her a homemade cake. I was thinking about a cherry cake, but I've never tried one and I don't know if those are any good. My mom really likes Chocolate, Caramel, and Cherry flavors. I don't mind making the actual cake from a box. I'm really focused on the icing itself. Any suggestions on great cakes and icing that have to do with any of those flavors?

Then I'm being tempted to eat this delicious cake... but i can't.

Chapter 1-Renesmee~

Today’s my birthday. I am three years old. Momma promised she’d bake me a cake, but I think gramma will end up doing it. Right now I’m supposed to be asleep since its only 5:30. I spent the night with gramma and grandpa, though they were the ones supposed to be taking care of me, I think Aunt Rosalie enjoys it more. “Nessie?” It’s Aunt Rosalie. “Are you awake?” “Yes I am.” “Would you like some breakfast?” “No, not right now.” “Oh,okay,would you like to come to me and Uncle Emmett’s room?” “Okay.” There was really only one thing I wanted to ask right now, but I don’t think Aunt Rosalie knew the answer: was Jacob coming? I hadn’t seen him in a while and I needed to see Jacob—my Jacob. But I would wait patiently for momma and daddy to come before I would ask. I really hope this year that my birthday can be special, last year I spent it with Jacob, Sam, Emily, and the rest of my family. Even grandpa came; not my grandpa that lives here, but momma’s daddy—Charlie. That’s what part of my middle name is made up of: Carlisle and Charlie—its Carlie. My first and real name which is Renesmee, is made up of Esme and Renée—who is my other grandma who lives in Florida. Momma said we’d go there someday, but every time I ask her she tries her best to avoid the subject. Her reason why we can’t go is because she says we’re “special”, and daddy says it’s because soulless people can’t go to Florida. I’m not entirely sure what he means. “Nessie, are you in here?” I can tell from that soft tender voice that it’s gramma. “Yes, I’m in here, gramma.” “Well, come with me so we can get you cleaned up since it’s a very special day today.” “Okay.” I go with gramma to the kitchen where she pours me some milk in a tall glass like she does everyday. “Are you baking me a cake gramma?” “What kind did you want?” “Um, chocolate!” “With my name on it and don’t forget to spell it right: N-e-s-s-i-e. “I’ll be sure and do that.” Gramma gives me a warm smile. “Do you have any presents for me?” “Oh, as a matter of fact I do.” “Wait right here.” Gramma ran upstairs and came back down with a box wrapped in shiny silver wrapping paper. I opened it very quickly and found a bright pink dress. “It’s beautiful, thank you gramma!” “You should thank me too.” Behind me was grandpa, and I jumped into his arms and he gave me a kiss on the cheek. “Now, you go upstairs, get your dress on, and put that locket your mother gave you on, Nessie.” Gramma said. I quickly got upstairs and put my dress and locket on. I even remember what it says: More than my own life. That was the English translation since it was in French. When I got downstairs everyone was waiting for me, even momma and daddy. Of course I went running into momma’s arms. “Hello, Nessie.” She greeted me. “Do you have anything for me, momma?” Everyone started to laugh. “I have something for you, Nessie.” Said Aunt Alice. She’s always the creative one who’s gentle and bright. She handed me a brown tote bag which held inside a little stuffed wolf, which reminded me of Jacob even more. Aunt Rosalie and Uncle Emmett gave me a beauty kit because Aunt Rosalie wants me to carry one her good looks. Momma and daddy gave me two diamond-looking hair pins which daddy put in my hair. “Happy birthday, love.” He said to me. The next thing I couldn’t help but blurt out was “Is Jacob coming? Will he come to see me? Does he miss me?” Momma answered with: “I’m not sure, dear.” I gave her a worried look to somehow ease my pain. Why wouldn’t Jacob come? Did I make him angry with something I might have said or done? I don’t really know, but I was determined to see Jacob because I needed him here with me to celebrate this special day.

What is it about "Red Velvet Cake" that seems to be so popular?

If it is simply a white cake with red dye in it (or in some cases chocolate cake) and has no flavor like cherry or strawberry....then what is it? I tasted some and I really thought it was going to have a magnificent flavor to it and I was kind of disappointed. It just tasted like white cake, looking red with cream cheese frosting on it. Am I missing something? Just curious....thanks.

we have icing we are talking about a simple design or words or something...

it has icing on it chocolate in fact, we are talking about a decorative design with vanilla icing.

I've just spent all afternoon baking - using best butter, free-range eggs, golden caster sugar and british flour. I made two chocolate cakes, two victoria sandwich cakes, one with my homemade lemon curd, one with my raspberry jam, a raspberry and coconut sponge a treacle tart and two blackberry and apple pies, so i don't have to do it tomorrow when we have guests....and my brother and his four mates have eaten the bl**dy lot...

Looking for creative pie names...?

Yes, it's springtime and the sun is shining, so I'm at it again in the kitchen whipping up some pies! One thing that annoys me more than anything, though, are boring, everyday names for treats. When I make something, especially if I tweak a recipe, I like to give it a new name. For example, I make a version of Magic Cookie Bars that my family has nicknamed No Nap Cookie Bars because they are loaded with sweetened condensed milk, butterscotch chips and milk chocolate chips!

Anyway, I'm working on pies today and I'd love to rename a few of them. I've got a yummy strawbery pie with graham cracker crust, and a blueberry/blackberry pie, as well as a flowerpot gingerbread cake. Now the flowerpot cake is a family thing for when somebody is pregnant (you bake the cake -usually gingerbread- in the flowerpot and then after they eat it they plant some kind of flower in it for the baby). We've always just called it a Flowerpot Cake, or Baby Cake.

The Blue/Blackberry pie, I was thinking something like Black Eye Pie....Just 'cause it's black and blue...I dunno.

And the strawberry one I'm totally at a loss. I have a friend who just calls it Awesome Pie, lol.

Very Annoying Friend?

My female friend of 8 years just moved in with my partner amd myself after ending a horrible relationship she had

The first few days were fine, but now she is over the top annoying

She refuses to clean the toilet, take out the rubbish, recycle anything

She also talks NON STOP. Her favourite word is "DUDE". One day I counted 47 "dude"s

She thinks before she opens her mouth, and when she talks, it's all just airhead dribble

She recently received $1000.00 as a grant for studying, spent the whole lot on clothes, and now can't pay rent

Also, I have a computer in the lounge. It's mine and I worked hard to save for it [saving money is my downfall] I even got wireless broadband so she could use her laptop in her room, but she never does, instead, she comes walking out and says "dude, can I show you this on youtube..." or "dude, can I just check... I cant be bothered loading my laptop"

She is causing me to pull my hair out and my partner is worried about my stress levels.

She has no respect for us or our place

I'm 21, Partner ius 22 and she is 23

She's an airhead that thinks the world is made out of rainbows and chocolate cakes, believes anything the paparazzi report, likes to live the glamourous life but has no money of her own to do this

It's almost fair to say she 23 with the mind of a 7 year old

Honestly, when things don't go her way, she stamps her foot and cries and swears and carries on

Ask her to cook dinner - for 2 males, she cooks 2 hash browns and 3 fish fingers - ?? !!

I need to know what to do - Im her friend and cannot get the confidence to tell her she needs to grow up and to get used to not getting her own way

Please... any ideas? Ever since she moved in I only get about 3 hours sleep a day and always have headaches
