Question: Does anybody else think that the huge amount of artificial food coloring in red velvet cake can't be good?

Nooooooo I'm sure it's fine they wouldn't make velvet red poisoning would they?

Red velvet cake doesn't need food coloring. It is the reaction from the butter milk and vinegar that turns the coco powder a red color. Find a recipe with out food coloring if it worries you. You may not get as fake looking red color but there are good recipes out there that give a great taste and good color as well.

I am so allergic to food dye #5 6 & 7 if I ate even a slice of RVC i swell and believe me its not pretty
